Introduction

Hello!  My name is Travis, and I am here in California working for ASU as an intern with the California Civic Innovation Project.  Trying to explain what I am doing can actually be quite complicated as it involves a really complex network of acronyms and titles.  I think the easiest way to explain it is that I am an ASU intern who works for a non profit organization called the Alliance for Innovation.  The Alliance is partnered with ASU on their California Civic Innovation Project.  My specific role is to work on projects for the Alliance.  Over the next two semesters, the Alliance anticipates having me and my coworker work on their own projects, as well as projects from their partner cities of West Hollywood and Santa Monica.  It should definitely keep us on our toes. 

Through this internship I hope to:

• Gain a better understanding of local government and its policy processes
• Gain knowledge and experience in non profit leadership
• Improve my research abilities
